Australia Day!

One of my favorite parts of living overseas is getting to celebrate more holidays.  I love exploring cultures through their important traditions. This week is a big week in China– but more on that later. Tonight we were lucky enough to join in an Australia Day dinner at a proper Ozzie restaurant.

Similar to the 4th of July, Australia Day includes meat cooked on barbie {I love how they served it over grilled herbs}. My favorite part of the menu was kangaroo pie.  Rich and yummy, it was was delicious. And, naturally, the meal ended with a traditional lamination.

The restaurant also had an Aussie comedian, which added some entertainment to the evening. Good food, good fun, good cultural experience, good company! xoxo

Recent Celebrations

Since we’ve missed out on each other’s recent lives, I wanted to give you a snapshot of some our celebrations lately. December was busy with birthdays, advent activity calendars and holiday cards (we created our own!)– then we headed to Australia for Christmas and New Years. I decorated our beach rental then we headed out to watch the fireworks in Sydney, over the Opera House. It was a jam packed month but full of wonderful!

What did you do for the holidays? Any other fun recent celebrations? xoxo

Welcome Back!

After  a rough end to 2013 with losing the content from the last 5 years, it has taken me a bit to pick up the pieces and move on. But it’s a new year and I’m ready to get started {better late than never, right?}. Here’s a few things I’m thinking about to make 2014 awesome.

1. Put on a DIY workshop. Wouldn’t this leather cuff be cool? {image}

2. Celebrate Every Day! Really, I mean it! By living in the moment and enjoying the little things, and any chance to have a party {and cake!}. {image}

3. In the last few years I’ve really started to find my personal style. I hope I can continue to grow and explore in that {and try out these cute nails}. {image}

4. Spread the party love. More on this later. :) {image}

5. This little sign motivates me. {image}

6. We are going to have to look for a new apartment soon. I’m hoping to create a beautiful and comfortable home. {image}

7. I threw myself into eating healthy last year. I plan to keep it up! {image}

8. I really want to make it to Japan. I hope I hope!! {image}

9. This image is from an awesome hike of Hong Kong, combining exercise and exploring my city. More of this, please! {image}

Just a little about what I’m doing about and where I’m going. How about you? Any plans for the year? Or have you already give up on resolutions?

Looking forward to seeing lots more of you! xoxo
